The Atlantic Coast Conference released its 2025 football schedule Monday, split by four home and away games for all 17 schools. Syracuse will open conference play this upcoming campaign at Clemson on Sept. 20, a school the Orange have never beaten on the road.

Following the Orange’s ACC opener, they return to the JMA Wireless Dome on Sept. 27 to face Duke — which SU hasn’t played since 2020. Syracuse then flies south to face SMU in Dallas on Oct. 4, its first matchup versus the Mustangs since they joined the ACC in 2024.

SU’s first open week comes in Week 7 of the college football season. Then, the Orange will battle rival Pittsburgh at home on Oct. 18 before traveling to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech on Oct. 25. A Halloween meeting at home against North Carolina, led by legendary head coach Bill Belichick, closes out October for the Orange.

In November, Syracuse has just three contests, though it’s the Orange’s toughest part of the 2025 slate. They travel to face Miami on Nov. 8 before having their second open week of the season. On Nov. 22, SU squares off with national runner-up Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. The Orange’s lone all-time win in Notre Dame Stadium came in 2008. Syracuse ends its regular season at home against Boston College on Nov. 29.

Under first-year head coach Fran Brown, SU went 10-3 this past season and 5-3 in ACC contests. The Orange earned multiple wins over ranked conference foes, defeating then-No. 23 Georgia Tech in Week 2 and shocking then-No. 6 Miami to end the regular season.

Syracuse placed fourth in the ACC standings — its best conference finish since 2018. It also was one of just two teams in the conference to win a bowl game, along with Louisville.

Prior to their ACC slate, the Orange are set to begin 2025 on Aug. 30 in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium, taking on Tennessee in the Aflac Kickoff Game. They then return to Syracuse to battle UConn on Sept. 6 and Colgate on Sept. 12.
